Robert J. McCarthy, Jr.
After graduating from law school, Mr. McCarthy was accepted into the United States Marine Corps. He attended boot camp in Quantico, Virginia and then went to Officers Training School in Quantico. After graduating from Quantico, Mr. McCarthy was commissioned an officer. While at his first duty station, Mr. McCarthy attended Naval Justice School in Newport, RI. At Naval Justice School he was certified as a defense counsel, a prosecuting attorney and a legal assistance officer.
After being honorably discharged, Mr. McCarthy was recalled to active duty to serve the United States in Operation Desert Storm. After Desert Storm Mr. McCarthy stayed in the Marine Corps Reserve and was honorably discharged at the rank of Major.
While in the Marine Corps, Mr. McCarthy acted as a defense counsel and prosecuting attorney. He also defended military members at administrative discharge boards and before summary court martials. Attorney McCarthy also was in charge of a base wide tax program helping military members and their families navigate tax issues.
